T1D New Study - Adding Ozempic, a once-weekly injection

About The Study

 

This study is for patients with Type 1 Diabetes, using an insulin pump, and currently have obesity. Participants will add either semgalutide (Ozempic) or a placebo to their current treatment. Ozempic is a once-weekly injection approved for Type 2 Diabetes and can help with weight loss.

The goal of the study is to see if adding Ozempic can help patients with Type 1 Diabetes lose body weight and improve blood sugar control.

All participants enrolled in this study will receive study meds at no charge and will be compensated for their time and travel.

To take part in the study, participants should be:

  • Type 1 Diabetes
  • Have obesity
  • Using an insulin pump
  • A1C between 7 and 10%
  • Age between 19 to 59 only

What Is a Study?

  • A clinical study helps advance the future of diabetes! Research patients try new meds or devices not yet available to the public, at no cost to them.
  • Research patients meet with a study coordinator and doctor multiple times to monitor them.
  • Each visit, patients are compensated for travel expenses.
  • Study patients must meet a list of criteria in order to be a part of a study.
  • A study can last anywhere from six months to a few years.
